About Paddy Gully
Paddy Gully is beautiful Area within the Esk Shire, a tributary to Wivenhoe Dam. Wivenhoe Dam is a dam across the Brisbane River a little way upstream from Locker Creek. The dam holds twice as much water as Sydney Harbour and is about seven times bigger than Hinze Dam at the Gold Coast. The dam is home to the vulnerable Australian lungfish, in 2010 there was an estimated population of 800.
Home to Bass, catfish, redclaw, turtles and a fertile array of birds including Swans, Pelicans and wild ducks. Paddy Gully and Wivenhoe Dam provide a water boundry for our cattle and during wet times, we have to muster cattle from islands to prevent them becoming stranded or drowning. It has been a tranquil place for our family and dogs to enjoy Summer by the water, playing, fishing and swimming..
